    Find your most productive hours

One of the best ways of creating time out of thin air is to work on your projects during your most productive hours of the day.

Assuming that you are an entrepreneur or a freelancer, you have the daunting task of managing your time as well as your projects. So how do the experts handle this situation?

Here is the key principle – work when you are at your best and avoid the rest!

Remember these few principles when you are selecting where or when you should do your work:

Set aside time for the WORK ZONE mode. In the Work Zone mode, you spend that time on your money making projects (like setting up business deals, doing graphics design, writing your book, programming, anything that MAKES YOU MONEY or CONTRIBUTES TO YOUR FINANCIAL GOALS)

You create for yourself LOTS of time by not wasting them when you work at non-productive hours.

At this point in time your focus should SOLELY be on your work and you must cut out all those things that might seem urgent but aren’t important at all.

Things like turning off your phone, refusing to check your e-mail (unless it contributes to financial goals), locking yourself in your room or office, avoiding the TV, putting the kids to bed (less distractions), even to the point of keeping yourself away from your boy/girlfriend or spouse.

This ensures that your focus remains unbroken and the fact that you are also training yourself to be disciplined.

A lack of discipline is common among freelancers and self-made business owners because there is no boss to watch over your shoulder.

You are your own boss – you are the only one who can kick your own butt.

Another good reason why this would work is so that you don’t execute your Work Zone time at the wrong time – like when the kids are home or when other distractions can easily cloud your judgments.

Furthermore, picking the right time to work can also be a crucial situation especially when it comes to executing creative like writing and graphics design. If you don’t have inspiration (for example, writing a song), go and do something that makes you happy so that when you come back to your work, you will be fully-charged and your creative juices will flow.

The best thing is you don’t need to worry about RIGID time scheduling where you are forced to conform to a 9-5 routine. You don’t have to wake up at the wee hours in the morning to work 12 hours non-stop. The Work Zone method will enable you to be at your best even if you aren’t the 9-5 disciplined type – just make sure you set aside those hours (1-3 hours depending on your work style) just for that.

Another method of organizing your time is called the ADMINISTRATIVE ZONE. Let’s face it, even if your are a big CEO of a company or Bill Gates himself, there are certain administrative things that you and only you can handle (like going through some personal e-mail or ironing out some details on your schedule)

So the most important thing you need to make sure is that during your Admin Zone, you are doing things that will set you well for the rest of the day and you don’t ever need to return to this zone again. This will prevent you from eating up time from your WORK ZONE.

This is the best time for you to return all your phone calls, reply all your e-mails, support your customers, bathe the dog, help your kids with their homework, do the laundry, etc.

By setting aside time for your Admin Zone, you create more time for yourself by not mixing them in your productive, money making hours.

You must also set aside time for self-improvement. This is called the GROWTH ZONE.

Spend time here exercising (more on this in a later chapter), reading self-improvement books, enhancing your skills, watching shows that teaches you how to cook, praying and taking your life to the next level.

This is one section of the day that even most people find it very hard to do. I call it the Recharge Zone. Basically, you do absolutely NOTHING at this point of time.

I know it sounds easy to do NOTHING but it is actually very hard for busy people to do it. (On the other hand, you are doing it all the time, then you have TOO MUCH time on your hands).

All the busy things in your life must stop. Just schedule yourself 15 to 30 minutes to unload and recharge. Don’t think about anything else, just blank your mind. It really helps a lot.
