This is one of the worst books I have ever read (or attempted to read). It’s completely vague; she doesn’t address any actual issues directly. Instead she gives you little assignments where you write down your own issues in the actual book and then she tells you that you’re radiant over and over. She doesn’t offer any actual advice, and the little “assignments” are like something you would do in elementary school.
This book is written for whiny weak people who want to cry about the fact that they were chubby as a little kid or they’re getting some wrinkles and they’re so shallow and self-centered that it’s totally destroying their lives. If you faced any ACTUAL traumatic experiences as a child or an adult, this book is absolutely not for you. Her entire section on physical abuse is literally less than half a page out of the whole book.
To the people who are actually pathetic enough to need so much encouragement that they are actually impressed and touched by this book, I have to say in disgust, “Suck it up, babies. You have no idea what actual hardship is.”

I’m sorry but I found this book extremely unhelpful. It was very disjointed. It wasn’t even clear what you were supposed to be writing in the workbook pages. It just seemed like a stream of consciousness of trite phrases like “everything happens for a reason”. Maybe it’s helpful to people who have never thought beyond their nose for their entire life. I don’t know. I couldn’t find anything redeeming in the entire thing. I ended up just skimming the second half so maybe there was something redeeming in there.

Feeling not good enough and learning (finally) how to move beyond that is what “Know Yourself” is all about. I loved this book and went through all of the suggestions by the author. Each one gave me more of myself back. You just feel she’s coming from a place that we’ve all been because she bears a good amount of “I’ve been there too” experiences so you know she knows the ropes of the hard climb back to feeling whole and what it takes.
Two paragraphs from the book can give you a feel for this book. P. 95 “There comes a time when you must look within and ask yourself if all you have ever had, owned, or acquired in the past, including relationships, ever made you feel whole and complete and was the source of permanent radiance and inner glowing confidence.”
P. 97 “The key message in this book is for you to glow by being your authentic self, releasing the need or desirous attachment, and freeing yourself from the trap of the ego, which leads you to believe erroneously that you must have something from outside of yourself in order to feel fulfilled.”
I loved reading this book. Get it if you’ve struggled with self worth and not feeling good enough. It’s a God Send!

I enjoyed reading this. Found it to be straight forward and to the point with issues. I would recommend it to a friend. I will read it again to see what I get out of it the second time.

I’m maybe a third of the way through the book and I just had to write a review: this book is absolutely amazing! It had me in tears by the second chapter. It is unbelievable just how wonderfully intricate we are and I commend Ms. Rose for outlining this and gently guiding the reader to shed the negativity and create his/her own dream life.
The key is, it’s all WITHIN us and within OUR OWN POWER to make these fundamental changes for the better, which will indubitably improve and enlighten our lives.
Thanks for writing such a meaningful, wonderful book! I will purchase a few more copies for my friends.
