What are your recommendations for stress relieving loose teas?

I’ve quickly turned into quite the loose tea lover, and I have a lot of stress and anxiety, and I was wondering what anyone’s recommendations would be for some teas that can be used to relieve stress.

Here is a list of herbs that I have found to be the best when it comes to relieving stress and helping to calm nerves:

    chamomile
    vervain
    peppermint
    linden flowers
    lavender flowers
    lemon balm

All of these herbs are great tasting and stress relieving on their own, but, you can combine all of them in equal amounts, and use them as a tea. For example, I would blend 1/4 cup of any of the herbs (use a mixture of at least 2 or 3 of the herbs together for a better effect), then use 2 teaspoons of the mixture for your tea. Let the herbs steep for 5 to 10 minutes before you strain and drink it.

You can make lots of great tasting teas by changing which herbs you mix together.

The most common teas (or tisanes) for stress would be
    Chamomile
    Linden flower (aka Lime)
    Hops
    Oats or oat straw
    Passion flower
    Lemon balm leaf

Some lesser known but effective are:
    Vervain (nervousness)
    Skullcap
    Damiana
    Borage
    Siberian Ginseng root

Chamomile and Lemon balm are tasty on their own. Borage tastes sort of like cucumber. Any of the others are improved by a pinch of spearmint leaf. The ginseng has to be simmered (5 to 10 minutes, depending on the size of the cut).

Several companies have put together blends for stress and added some dried fruits or stevia to improve the drinkability. Look at Traditional Medicinals or Celestial Seasonings blends to see what they have & then mix up something similar.

See the Simpson & Vail link for a blend for sleep.

Evergreen recommended remedy to combat stress is to take proper sleep, meditation, exercise and have healthy diet. I personally like myself natural scents to relief stress. Though it is not tea but may help you to relieve from stress which is a silent killer for body.
The article beat stress with natural scents (aromatherapy) is very effective foe me. All the best.
